Question – Jan 2026:
I find myself often feeling depressed and overwhelmed by the state of the world. A part of me feels that everything is a bit pointless and hopeless. How should I deal with this state in myself?
Moumina’s Answer:
Yes, I think it’s easy to feel like that. It seems we are in a time again in history when all around the world powerful bullies are finding victims and dominating them. We feel the threat of destruction closer to us. I always remember Sagarpriya talking about what happens when the male side goes off on his own away from the female. She said he goes into endless competition, wanting to win more & more, ending in fighting and wars. Of course nothing good happens when the female rejects the male from her life either.
In Star Sapphire we find we have one side, male or female, who is dominant, thinks they are right and knows better than the other side. Looking inside at the inner relationship and recognising we have this dominance and submission inside ourselves is very relieving. We no longer need to feel we are victims of this out-of-control power in the world. We have the capacity to open up a new dimension of contact between the male and female inside. The opportunity for each side to become self-directed and responsible for their own joy. The dominant one can begin to relax and the submissive one can discover they no longer need to take orders from anyone who assumes superiority.
This healing can happen naturally without effort and is within our capacity as meditators. We may not have the capacity to stop ugly domination in the world, but we have the capacity to shift it inside ourselves, which will surely affect the outer world too.
